There is now an artontrack print available through the Duluth South Shore & Atlantic Division of the Soo Line Historical & Technical Society. These are available in a series of 60 signed and numbered prints. They are very high quality reproductions, in fact I had to be extra careful in order not to sign and number the original! The proceeds of the print sales go towards the cosmetic and operational restoration of DSS&A RS1 #101, owned by the DSS&A Division and kept in Duluth, MN.

I have also added a recently completed painting titled Kicking Cars which can be found in the painting gallery. This painting is seventh in the series and I expect to put it up for auction in around a month.

I have added some to the photography section, completing the CPR essay and adding some antique engine show pictures from last summer. I hope to add more photo sections in the future.

Thanks for visiting.

Here it is summer and I am trying to get back to updating this site. Branchline Caboose has gone up for auction, sold and been shipped to it's new owner. My first major chainsaw carving been completed and is now in Fountain City. The 5' maple log bench features a bald eagle relief carving. I hope to make photographs of it available here on the site under the furniture section.

After a slowdown for the holidays the artontrack series is back in gear with a new auction and a new painting. This week the DSS&A at Agate Falls painting (#5) goes up for auction. Also the first painting done in 2003 has been added to the images gallery. Artontrack #6/Branchline Caboose is available for viewing and will soon be up for auction itself. With the new year I'm trying some new approaches to the series and new ideas in the paintings. In this spirit artontrack #6 will be the first auction without a reserve price when it goes up for sale. Also the buyer will have the option to specify the lettering and numbering I will paint onto the caboose prior to shipment. Finally, I plan to add a photo section to the site. First, I will share a summary of last fall's trip to Ontario, Canada to photograph the Canadian Pacific. I also plan to establish a page that will showcase a different photo each week, a recent image or one pulled from my archive.

This week's second auction is underway featuring steam power on a sunny winter's day. Cold Crossing depicts Soo Line 1003 during its first career as a workaday freight locomotive. Many know this locomotive these days as an excursion hauler working such runs as the Circus Train. Trains and winter seem to foreshadow Christmas which is right around the next corner, perhaps you might know someone who would like to find this one underneath their tree.

Artontrack continues to attract new viewers each day and the auctions continue as well. This week starts with the third painting, Corn Haulers, a scene drawing upon those dog days of summer when the air is thick and railroad traffic is just starting to pick up. In this scene a well worn SD9 attracts the attention of a small boy returning from an errand in a small corn belt town.

This has been an exciting week as I announced the series and this site to a wider audience resulting in a large spike in traffic mid-week. Also today marks the beginning of the first ebay auction for Wyoming Autumn, the first in the series. This auction will run until Monday, October 28th.

Last week I completed the fifth painting in the series "Above Agate Falls". This weekend I scanned the painting and uploaded it to the image gallery section. I have also added a few paragraphs to the more info section explaining what visitors can expect to this find in this series and on this site in the months and years to come. I now consider the site ready for a wider audience and plan to announce it around the web early this week. The auction of painting #1 "Wyoming Autumn" will begin this Friday.

Today I am making some additions to this website as I prepare to announce it to the public in other locations around the web during this coming week. I am also working to finish the fifth painting of the series (featuring the Duluth, South Shore & Atlantic Railroad at the Agate Falls, MI trestle). I plan to be on vacation the week of September 30, once I am back I will launch the series with the auction of the first painting in the series. It is shaping up to be an exciting time as months of planning are put into motion and those who love railroad art can participate in this new kind of series. Stay tuned...
